In field trials at Bandeirantes-Parana in 1985, L. albus was sown for green manure on 4 dates with 20, 30, 40 or 50 cm between-row spacing. Plots were cut 60, 75, 90 or 105 d after emergence. Results were averaged over spacings. FW yields ranged from 1.63 t/ha with sowing on 15 May and cutting 105 d after sowing to 34.89 t with sowing on 23 Mar. and cutting after 105 d. Av. FW yields were 25.1, 23.9, 12.7 and 5.39 t with sowing on 23 Mar., 15 Apr., 18 May and 15 June, resp.; corresponding DM yields were 4.17, 4.38, 2.64 and 1.48 t. Av. FW yields were 11.98, 17.11, 20.23 and 17.73 t with cutting 60, 75, 90 and 105 d after emergence; corresponding DW yields were 2.02, 2.94, 3.71 and 4.00 t.
