Effect of temperature and relative humidity on the development of Epiricania melanoleuca (Fletcher) (Epipyropidae: Lepidoptera)

Effect of temperature and relative humidity on the development of Epiricania melanoleuca (Fletcher) (Epipyropidae: Lepidoptera)

Haryana Agricultural University Journal of Research 20(4): 252-258

In laboratory experiments on Epiricania melanoleuca reared on nymphs and adults of the lophopid Pyrilla perpusilla, relative humidity (50-90%) had no effect on the development of egg and pupal stages of the parasitoid. Experiments were conducted at controlled temperatures from 20 to 35 degrees C. Maximum pupation occurred at 27.5 degrees C and the greatest proportion of adults emerged successfully at 30.0 degrees C.
