Effect of the plant growth regulator Parlay on the seed production of the white clover cvs. Menna and Olwen. II. Yield components and potential seed yield

Effect of the plant growth regulator Parlay on the seed production of the white clover cvs. Menna and Olwen. II. Yield components and potential seed yield

Journal of Applied Seed Production 9: 81-86

The influence of paclobutrazol (as Parlay) at 1.0 kg a.i./ha on the seed yield components of two Trifolium repens cultivars were assessed under field conditions in 1987-88. Parlay increased the number of harvestable inflorescences (brown plus ripe) and potential seed yield in both harvest years but the total number of inflorescences in 1987 only. Defoliation increased the total number of harvestable inflorescences in both years but seed yield in 1987 only.
