The effects of weather on the post-embryonic biology of Decticus verrucivorus were studied in the UK during 1989. The summer of 1989 was unusually dry, warm and sunny. In comparison to the previous years, adult recruitment to the population was completed 4-5 weeks earlier, and there was less variance between individuals in the timing of final ecdysis.
