Element diversity in sunflower inbred lines

Twenty inbred lines were grown in nutrient solution for 25 days and then examined for N, P, K, Ca and Mg contents and for dry mass of the root, stem and leaf and also leaf area. The highest concentrations of N and Ca were found in leaf, then stem and root tissues, while the highest concentrations of Mg were in stem, then leaf and root tissues. P was usually most concentrated in the root. The greatest variation in concentration in different plant organs was recorded for K.
