Estimation of genetic correlations by restricted maximum likelihood and by linear adjustment of covariances between estimated breeding values: a comparison

Estimation of genetic correlations by restricted maximum likelihood and by linear adjustment of covariances between estimated breeding values: a comparison

Rapport Institut voor Veeteeltkundig Onderzoek ' Schoonoord' ( B-324): 21pp.

Performance test data (gestation length, fleshiness score, and daily gain from 120 to 365 days of age) on 721 Meuse-Rhine-Yssel bulls, and on the progeny (1188 and 1168 reared for veal and beef production resp.) of the top 30-50% of selected bulls were analysed. Veal traits measured were daily gain, feed conversion, carcass fleshiness and value of the calf, and beef production traits were daily gain, carcass fleshiness and value of the calf.
