Evaluation of economic supply price of energy sources in selected regions of Nepal: its relevance in rural energy policy formulations

In rural areas of Nepal, the main forms of energy sources are fuelwood, agricultural residues, animal dung, solar, wind and water energy. Petroleum fuels and coal are imported primarily for use in the urban areas. The market prices of various energy sources are at present highly distorted.
