Evaluation of systemic fungicides for the control of witches' broom disease of cocoa

Evaluation of systemic fungicides for the control of witches' broom disease of cocoa

Agrotropica 1(2): 128-132

The effects of the systemic fungicides edifenphos, ethyltrianol, flutriafol and triadimenol on mycelial growth, basidiospore germination and plant infection by Crinipellis perniciosa were determined. In vitro tests showed that ethyltrianol completely inhibited mycelial growth and basidiospore germination at 1 p.p.m. a.i. Triadimenol was highly toxic to mycelium but was not effective against spore germination.
