Evaluation of yield of six sweet pepper cultivars grown in an unheated foil tunnel and in the open field

In trials between 1986 and 1988, hardened seedlings of the 6 cultivars were planted, in both cases, in late May at about 5-6 plants/msuperscript 2. Harvesting started in mid-July under cover and in early Aug. in the open. The fruits were picked as they began to colour. The mean marketable yield under cover was 4.62 kg/msuperscript 2 and it was 3.44 kg/msuperscript 2 in the open.
