Exchangeable potassium percentage as a measure of solution K in Vertisols and Vertic Ustochrepts



Journal of the Indian Society of Soil Science 39(3): 452-456



Two estimates of solution potassium, K in saturation extract and K in water (1:5 soil:water extract), and exchangeable potassium percentage of the exchange complex (EPP) were determined in five soils series, (three Vertic Ustochrepts and two Typic Chromusterts). Water soluble K and exchangeable K were significantly correlated in all the five soil series. EPP and water soluble K were positively correlated in the individual soil series.
