Genetic variability and character association in chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.)



Genetika Beograd 21(2): 135-139



A considerable range of variability was observed for plant height, pod number, seed number, seed weight and seed yield in 48 diverse chickpea lines grown during rabi 1986-87. Estimates of heritability and expected genetic gain were high for seed weight. Seed yield was positively correlated with primary and secondary branches, pod number and seed number.
