Genetics of photoperiodic control in barley of alternative habit

Genetics of photoperiodic control in barley of alternative habit

Genetika Moskva 25(10): 1811-1817

Varieties differing in habit and various lines were crossed with near-isogenic lines differing in the genes for habit sh, Sh2I and Sh3 in an almost day-neutral genetic background (Japanese variety Hayakiso). Differences were found in the critical day length for forms with alternative habit. The material differed in no more than 2-3 genes controlling photoperiod sensitivity, which interacted in accordance with various types of epistasis.
