Gliotoxin test as an additional method for differentiation of Trichoderma viride and Gliocladium virens

A method for determination of gliotoxin in pure culture of fungi grown on solid nutrient media is described. The method is based on the fact that G. virens produces, and T. viride does not produce, gliotoxin and the method may be used to distinguish the species.
