Japanese Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene 20(3): 203-215

.. were infected with Leishmania mexicana from Ecuador. At the autopsy 6 months after inoculation, the inoculated sites were shallow, ulcerative and covered with thick crusts. No cutaneous metastasis was observed on other exposed parts of the body.
