Impacts of future climate change on Hungarian crop production: an application of crop growth simulation models

A methodology is described for studying changes in wheat and maize production as a result of future climate change. A Geographic Information System was used to map agroclimatic zones of Hungary and spatial shifts in future production. Detailed biological crop models were used to simulate crop response to the changed climate. Future climate scenarios were derived from a variety of General Circulation models.
