Influence of different crop rotations and high-intensity cropping on grain yield, thousand-grain weight and nitrogen and amino acid contents in the grain of winter wheat and spring barley on calcic chernozem

In a field trial laid down in 1976, winter wheat and spring barley were grown continuously or alternating with each other, in each case with or without 15 t FYM/ha and increased N rates, or were grown in alternate years with Vicia faba. Data are given on grain yield, 1000-grain weight and grain N and amino acid contents in 1986-87 for wheat and barley treated with fungicides against Pseudocercosporella herpotrichoides. Results are expressed as a comparison with wheat in rotation with V. faba.
