Inheritance of resistance to anthracnose (Colletotrichum spp.) in pepper (Capsicum annuum L.). II. Genetic analysis of resistance to Colletotrichum dematium

Inheritance of resistance to anthracnose (Colletotrichum spp.) in pepper (Capsicum annuum L.). II. Genetic analysis of resistance to Colletotrichum dematium

Journal of the Korean Society for Horticultural Science 31(3): 207-212

Resistance to C. dematium was studied in the parental, F1, F2 and BC generations using mean lesion diameter as a guideline. The parental genotypes were PI244670 (susceptible) and Chungryong (resistant). Lesion diameter in the F1 and F2 were within the parental values and each BC mean was between the F1 and respective parent mean. Both F1 and F2 means deviated from the midparental value towards resistance, suggesting that resistance is partially dominant.
