Inheritance of some agronomic characters in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)



Rachis 10(1): 26-28



Nine F2 populations and 11 parents were grown during 1986-87 at Faisalabad, Pakistan, and the data derived from 8 characters analysed for heritability (H) and genetic advance (GA). All crosses, with a few exceptions, gave high H and GA for plant height, number of tillers, spikelets per spike and 1000-grain weight. Grain yield per plant also had high H and GA.
