Juvenile performance of provenances and families of Gliricidia sepium by region of origin
Growth data are reported at the nursery stage, and at 3-9 months old (after planting at the experimental station at Los Diamantes, Costa Rica) for 12 provenances of G. sepium from Mexico (4), Honduras (1), Guatemala (2), Nicaragua (1), Panama (1) and Costa Rica (3). Data are also included on seed weight of each provenance, which was shown to be significantly related to latitude, annual rainfall and number of dry months in the place of origin.
