Abstract
Hardwood cuttings from adult A. deliciosa plants and herbaceous cuttings from 1-year-old plants were taken in Apr. 1986 and Mar. 1987. Cuttings were treated with deionized water, IBA, NAA or IBA + NAA (the last 2 treatments only being applied to hardwood cuttings) and inserted in perlite maintained at 20 degrees C in a mist tunnel. Herbaceous cuttings gave the highest % rooting; treatment with 3000 p.p.m. IBA for 3 h increased % rooting and quality of rooting (number x length of roots) compared with untreated or water-treated controls.
