Leaf area and leaf number development in Helianthus annuus L



Agricoltura Mediterranea 120(3): 275-280



In field experiments, leaf number, leaf area development, leaf area duration (LAD) and yield of 9 inbred sunflower lines were investigated at the Torretta Experimental Station in 1988. Max. leaf area was reached at 80-90 d after sowing (DAS). Leaf production increased rapidly from 50-60 DAS and decreased slightly between 60 and 85 DAS. Max. leaf number was observed at 85 DAS.
