The effects of different crop rotations, soil amendments and of herbicide application on 4 different trophic groups of nematodes (bacterial feeders, facultative root/fungal feeders, obligate root feeders and omnivores/predators) were assessed in field trials in Switzerland in 1973 and 1983. Interactions between the nematode groups and the effects of various soil and agronomic factors were also observed. The detailed results are presented and discussed.
