Metabolism of substances and the productivity of young bulls on diets containing rapeseed oilmeal

Zootekhniya ( 4): 46-49

The effects were studied of rapeseed oilmeal on the physiological state and on productivity of young Kholmogor bulls fattened intensively. The bulls 8 to 11 months old and of body weights 217 to 280 kg, were fed on a diet based on silage, hay and concentrates, complete in nutrients and energy and given at a level to produce a daily gain of 900 to 1000 g. Maize and barley based concentrates contained 10 or 20% by weight of sunflower oilmeal or high-glucosinolate rapeseed oilmeal.
