The efficacy of different granulated and emulsifiable chemical and microbial insecticides against the pyralid Chilo partellus on sorghum DS-75 was investigated in Pakistan in 1982-83. Two applications of insecticide were given, the first 15 days after sowing and the 2nd 20 days later. In the emulsifiable concentrate trial, 5% Baythroid at 96 ml/100 litres and 60% Tamaron at 202 ml/100 litres water gave the best control, followed by 20% Sumicidin at 96 ml/100 litres water.
