New approaches to phosphorus fertilization

, : New approaches to phosphorus fertilization. Phosphorus requirements for sustainable agriculture in Asia and Oceania Proceedings of a symposium, 6-10 March 1989: 125-142

The agronomic value of phosphate rock depends not only on the chemistry of the rock but also on soil pH, rhizosphere pH, and the pattern of P demands of the cropping schedule. The co-granulation of phosphate rock with elemental S or ammonium fertilizer, composting it with organic wastes, and partial acidulation can all increase agronomic value.
