Identical mixtures of poultry manure amended with ground maize cobs were simultaneously placed in 4 reactor vessels to provide 4 replications of the composting process. The nitrogen content of the compost decreased significantly during the first 3 d, then increased to a higher level than the original mix during the 2nd week of composting.
