Nodulins, bacteroidins, and their intracellular localization in root nodules of yellow lupin

Nodulins, bacteroidins, and their intracellular localization in root nodules of yellow lupin

Soviet Plant Physiology 38(1, II): 71-79

Sodium dodecyl sulfate electrophoresis and immunochemical research methods were used to demonstrate that synthesis of polypeptides with molecular weights of 16.5, 66, and 80 kD, (present in the cytosol of uninfected roots), was blocked in the cytosol of effective nodules of Lupinus luteus during formation of the symbiotic system, where 12.5, 15.5, 36, 38, and 87 kD nodulins occurred. The specific 33 kD nodulin was detected in the peribacteroid space of effective and ineffective nodules.
