Nutrient distribution in components of young maritime pine trees: analysis and interpretation of results

Nutrient distribution in components of young maritime pine trees: analysis and interpretation of results

Annales des Sciences Forestieres 47(2): 101-115

Within-tree (stem, crown) and within-stand nutrient distributions (N, P, K, Mg) were analysed for a 16-year-old maritime pine (Pinus pinaster) stand in the Landes region, SW France (mean height 13.30 m, density 817 stems/ha, girth at breast height 59.7 cm). Within-tree distribution appeared to be related to: (1) a microclimatic parameter for foliage; (2) a physiological parameter for stems based on distance from stem to foliage/root system.
