Ovulation control of Merino ewe lambs born during sexual season and seasonal anoestrus. Influence of mating age

Ovulation control of Merino ewe lambs born during sexual season and seasonal anoestrus. Influence of mating age

11th International Congress on Animal Reproduction and Artificial Insemination, University College Dublin, Ireland, June 26-30, 1988 Volume 4 Brief Communications (Paper 555): 3pp.

44 Merino lambs born in spring and 36 born in autumn were divided into 2 groups, half being mated at 12 months of age (following induction of ovulation with FGA and PMSG) and the remainder at 18-22 months of age. For lambs mated at 12 months of age, those born in autumn had a higher CR to mating at 1st induced oestrus than those born in spring (76 vs. 64%).
