Performance of coated nitrogenous fertilizers in transplanted rice on cultivators' fields in Bangalore

Performance of coated nitrogenous fertilizers in transplanted rice on cultivators' fields in Bangalore

Current Research University of Agricultural Sciences Bangalore 19(2): 28-30

In a trial with rice grown on farms in the 1985 monsoon season, 56 kg N/ha as rock phosphate-coated urea (RPCU) gave the highest paddy yield of 4.15 t/ha compared with 3.62, 3.28 and 2.87 t with N as large granule urea, gypsum-coated urea (GCU) and prilled urea, resp., and 2.33 t without N. Applying 90 kg N/ha as GCU, RPCU + GCU in a 1:1 ratio or prilled urea gave yields of 4.10, 4.09 and 3.98 t, resp.
