Physiological and ecological characteristics of weeds of sugarcane fields in the Ryukuyu Islands 11. Effects of soil moisture on the growth and seed production of Rottboellia exaltata L.f. and Solanum alatum Moench
In pot trials in which R. exaltata and S. alatum (two important weeds of sugarcane in Japan) were grown at various soil intensities (pF 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5 and saturation), plant height, plant length, number of tillers and branches/plant, leaf area, seed production and total DW all increased with increasing soil moisture intensity.
