Phytochemical and antibacterial screening of the extracts of Ficus sycomorus

Various Ficus species, including F. sycomorus, are used medicinally in Africa. In vitro activity of aqueous and organic solvent extracts of the leaves, stem bark and roots was shown against Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes and Escherichia coli.
