Population fluctuations and damage by the lentil leaf weevil (Sitona crinitus Herbst.) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) in Denizli

Population fluctuations and damage by the lentil leaf weevil (Sitona crinitus Herbst.) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) in Denizli

Turkiye I Entomoloji Kongresi Bildirileri, 13-16 Ekim 1987, Ege Universitesi, Nornova, Izmir: 259-266

The nature of the damage caused by Sitona crinitus on lentils was studied in Denizli in Turkey. Overwintered adults appeared in the 2nd half of March and fed on young shoots and leaves. The larvae appeared when the climatic conditions were suitable and fed on root nodules. Adults emerged in mid-May.
