The three main components of a holiday, namely the tourist, the holiday 'product' and the industry can be related together in several ways. This chapter presents marketing science as a means of structuring, and thereby understanding, the important relationships between otherwise extremely diverse phenomena, which in turn allows the exercise of a deliberate influence upon them, for whatever reasons.
