Quality aspects of Actinidia deliciosa fruits coming from different Italian districts

Quality aspects of Actinidia deliciosa fruits coming from different Italian districts

Acta Horticulturae 282: 317-324

Morphological and chemical characteristics of the varieties Abbott, Hayward and Bruno coming from twelve districts were examined for three years, in order to ascertain the interaction between variety and environmental conditions. The results, elaborated by variance and multivariated analysis, have shown that the three varieties strongly differ for malic and citric acid content. The origin zones have affected, titratable acidity, malic and citric acid, K, Fe and B contents; variety X environment interaction was significant and important for fruit quality. Hayward has shown the most steady behaviour related to geographical and climatic factors.
