Abstract
In the Chernozemic Dark Brown soil zone, an uneroded native grassland site, a site cultivated since at least the 1940s, and a site cultivated since 1979, were sampled for 137Cs in 1988. The sites were nearly level (slopes < 1%). Transect sampling indicated that the net trimean erosion rates ranged from 2.1 to 7.5 t/ha annually for the 1979 field and the 1940s field, respectively. This represents mainly wind erosion.
