Quantitative analysis of the rhythm of feeding and ruminating activities

, : Quantitative analysis of the rhythm of feeding and ruminating activities. Reproduction, Nutrition, Development (Supplement 2): 209s-210s

The 24-h cycle of eating and ruminating patterns was studied in 6 heifers given free access to grass or maize silage in a 2-period cross-over design. Rhythm components (number of cycles/24 h) were characterized by the finite Fourier transform of hourly means of 24-h mastication activities.
