Quantitative traits of carcass and meat of bulls of different breeds and ages

, : Quantitative traits of carcass and meat of bulls of different breeds and ages. XV geneticke dny, Ceske Budejovice, 16-18 zari 1991: 123

Czech Pied (CP), German Red Pied (GRP) X CP and Simmental X CP bulls were finished on ad lib. maize silage and 2 kg concentrates daily to approx. 60 kg body weight. Dressing percentage was highest for CPs (58.5) and lowest for GRP X CPs (57.6). Carcass weight, hindquarters weight and internal fat weight were also highest in the CPs, but the differences from other types were not significant.

The objective of the paper was to determine quantitative traits of carcass value in 114 bulls of Czech Pied breed (C), Limousine breed (Li) and their crossbreds.
