Studies on the taxonomy, ecology and behavioural physiology of some of the important Anopheles vectors (the hyrcanus, minimus, leucosphyrus, maculatus, annularis and umbrosus groups/species complexes and the Pyrethophorus series (A. sundiacus and A. subpictus)) of malaria in Southeast Asia, conducted during 1970-86 are reviewed.
