Response of fodder beet cultivars to nitrogen fertilization

Response of fodder beet cultivars to nitrogen fertilization

Biuletyn Instytutu Hodowli i Aklimatyzacji Roslin ( 168): 117-126

In field trials in 1981-83, fodder beet Tedamono and Goliat Poly were given 0, 80, 160 or 240 kg N/ha. Data are given on foliage characteristics, percentage bolters, and leaf and root nutrient content. Root DM yields were highest with 160 kg N/ha (11.40 and 11.79 t/ha in Tedamono and Goliat Poly, resp.). Oat FU yields and N use efficiency were also highest at 160 kg N/ha.
