Response of horse gram (Macrotyloma uniflorum Lam.) Verdc. to combinations of N, P and K on farmers' fields in Tumkur District

In farm trials in 1978-81 under dryland conditions in 4 zones of Tumkur district, Karnataka, M. uniflorum was given combinations of 0, 10 or 20 kg N and 0, 20 or 40 kg P2O5/ha; 40 kg K2O/ha was also applied to some N + P treatments. Yield responses to N, P and K in the 4 zones are described. Average response/kg N at 10 and 20 kg/ha was 114 and 209 kg seeds/ha, respectively. Response/kg P2O5 at 20 and 40 kg/ha was 123 and 220 kg seeds, respectively.
