Response of sunflower varieties to nitrogen and phosphorus

The Helianthus annuus varieties EC68414, Surya and Morden were grown at 3 levels each of N and P (0, 30 and 60 kg/ha). Seed yield generally increased with increasing levels of N and P. EC68414 produced the highest number of fertile achenes/head (315 in control plants).
