Results from crosses of low linolenate soybean mutants

Results from crosses of low linolenate soybean mutants

Soybean Genetics Newsletter 18: 310-311

F3 seed from the cross A5 X C1640 was analysed for linolenic, linoleic and oleic acids and compared with that from the parents. The results confirmed that A5 is low in both linoleic and linolenic acids and high in oleic acid, while C1640 is low in linolenic acid but high in linoleic acid. Fatty acid ratios in the F3 seed tended to be intermediate between the parents.
