The seasonal occurrence of immature stages of the cecidomyiid Orseolia oryzae was investigated in rice fields in northern Thailand in 1973-75, and life tables were constructed for evaluating the impact of 2 egg-larval parasitoids, Platygaster oryzae and P. foersteri, on its population. O. oryzae completed 2 generations a year when the eggs of the 1st generation were deposited before mid-August.
