Selective control of small hardwoods with streamlining

Selective control of small hardwoods with streamlining

Proceedings of the 43rd Annual Meeting of the Southern Weed Science Society: 228-232

Field trials conducted during 1987-1989 in the University of Arkansas forest at Monticello showed that streamline basal-bark treatment with fluroxypyr (52-413 g/litre) or triclopyr (43-172 g/litre) controlled sprouting of undesired hardwood trees (Carya texana, C. tomentosa, Acer rubrum, Liquidambar styraciflua, Quercus falcata, Q. marilandica, Q. nigra, Q. phellos, Q. alba, and Q. stellata) in a well-established stand of southern pines by 99%, as assessed 26 months after herbicide treatment.
