A method was developed for the separation of monensin, lasalocid and salinomycin. A linear response (inhibition zone size vs. concentration) was seen for monensin, but linearity was poor for lasalocid and salinomycin. The thin-layer chromatography bioautography approach was considered useful as it is a simple method of relatively low cost and skill level.
