Sequence of two stable bz derivatives from bz-m13

Sequence of two stable bz derivatives from bz-m13

Maize Genetics Cooperation News Letter ( 64): 83

The maize bz-m13 allele is an insertion of a 2.2 kb dSpm (defective Suppressor-mutator) element 38 bp downstream from the intron in the Bz1 gene. In the presence of an active Spm element about 40% of grains are stable bz1 derivatives. An analysis of 13 such derivatives discovered one, bz'-10, with a deletion.
