Sequencing of the complete ovine growth hormone gene by a non-random method

Sequencing of the complete ovine growth hormone gene by a non-random method

Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica 23(3): 236-245

A clone (E lambda G2) from a sheep genomic library was obtained by successive hybridization using 2 probes, 1 from the 5' end and the other from the 3' end of the sheep somatotropin gene. A partial DNA sequence of E lambda G2 confirmed that the clone contained the entire sheep somatotropin gene. 2021 bp of a 2.4-kb fragment obtained by BamHI digestion of E lambda G2 were sequenced.
