Sequential trends in farm-level production, price, and value - United States turkey industry, 1950 to 1988

Sequential trends in farm-level production, price, and value - United States turkey industry, 1950 to 1988

Research Report Georgia Agricultural Experiment Stations ( 590): 17pp.

This study traces the evolution of the US turkey industry from 1950 to 1988. Production, farm price equivalent, and value of production at the farm level were analysed via sequential five-year trends. Five-year moving averages are also presented in the analysis, which smooths the short-term fluctuations in the turkey industry. A persistent increase in production occurred throughout the 1950-88 era, with 1984-88 production nearly four times that of 1950-54.
