Serum samples were collected from local breeds of sheep suspected of bluetongue virus infection. The agar-gel immunodiffusion test showed that 4 of 12 sera from sick animals, 38 of 43 from convalescent animals and 5 of 17 sera from recovered animals were positive for bluetongue antibodies. All of 14 samples from healthy animals were negative. Most animals had antibodies to more than 1 serotype.
